SCOTUS granted cert earlier this month to consider whether the Federal Arbitration Act requires district courts to stay a lawsuit pending arbitration, or if judges have discretion to dismiss when all claims are subject to arbitration (allowing appeal of the ruling granting arbitration) - but raises related issues, including what happens if one or both parties request a dismissal, and neither requests a stay? SCOTUS may opt not to resolve this issue, but it's an interesting one. Read more here.
